| Well all you can say is what an incredible match this evening. Simply one of the greatest matches in Australian Open history and Rafael Nadal does it again, seems to have a knack of winning the epics, against Federer in Rome in 2005 a 5 hour match, Wimbledon 2008 and then again tonight. Well done Rafa.
For Fernando Verdasco, one fantastic performance and hopefully he can continue the fantastic form into the Masters Series events and also the next three Grand Slams this year.
Nadal def. Verdasco 6-7 6-4 7-6 6-7 6-4.

| Verdasco is also a clay courter right? I'm not really sure. Nadal and Verdasco are similar so I just assume. |

| Folks, that's one of the greatest matches you will ever see at an Australian Open. Two warriors locked in a terrific duel...until one cracked.
As most of us expected, Rafa wasn't the one who cracked. It's why he is World #1. Brilliant in attack and defense. When he had his back to the wall, he came up with the money ball almost every time. He just proved how great he is when a match goes to five sets. Tremendous performance.
Fernando Verdasco just played the match of his career. He played some fantastic attacking tennis. Fearless on the important points, some of the risks he took to produce winners was unbelievable. He was great on serve...and again his heavy forehand worked wonders. Although he lost, he should be extremely proud of the way he played tonight.
This match proved that both players deserved a berth in the final...and it wasn't fitting that the match finished on a double fault. But we have the final most of us wanted...Federer vs Nadal. |

His game suits all Courts really, he can flatten his forehand out which Nadal struggles to do, so he's more of an all court player. And with his big serve I think he could do pretty well at Wimbledon this year.
Thought I might add he played Nadal at the French Open in 2008 and Nadal beat him 6-0 6-1 6-2 or something like that, only gave away three games though. But as we saw tonight, Verdasco is a different prospect now after the big summer with Gilles Reyes. |

| Woohoo! The game just finished in South Australia, and it was the best game I have ever seen. I can't compare it to the Wimbledon Final (as I missed that game ), but I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the game reminded me of why Rafa is my favourite player! Now, for a Rafa-Fed Final |

Surprisingly, even though he's Spanish...he got started on hard courts, instead of clay.
As Sparky said, he can adapt his game to all surfaces. He's always been able to really do damage with his forehand and its variation...and he can mix up his serve very well. Rafa had so much trouble reading it tonight. |

I think by the 4th Set though Nadal started to read it a lot better, certainly better than he had been in the first three sets. Verdasco should start to focus on the No. 5 Ranking now, I don't think he can get the No. 3 or 4 spots from Djokovic and Murray yet, but the No. 5 spot is wide open for him, Simon, Roddick and Davydenko to take. |
