| Double fault from Novak on set point for Berdych.
Tomas up two sets to love. Surely he won't lose it from here.
What a Tie-Break!! |

Fantastic win for Tomas. Through to his first Grand Slam Final. A deserved win after a few nervy moments in the 2nd Set Tie-Break.
Bring on Murray vs. Nadal!! |

| Score Update: Nadal leads Murray 6-4 7-6 1-3
It's amazing when Murray plays freely how good he is instead of more passive tennis. Similar to Lleyton Hewitt. |

| SF2: Nadal def. Murray 6-4 7-6 6-4
After leading 4-3 in the 3rd Set with a break, Nadal not only managing to break back, but then to break again and win in straight sets. Very impressive performance from Rafa, and will go into the Final against Tomas Berdych as a slight favorite. Don't count out Berdych though, after knocking off the World No. 3 & 2 in consecutive rounds, there's only one more to go.

Rest assure, he's still barking like a mad dog.
"Bad luck Murray, you went further than that hack Federer and will continue to do it for years to come. Your time will come. People keep forgetting Fed had only won one GS at his age." Is what he said....
But what a game from Nadal! Absolutely brilliant. The second set tie is where he won the match for me, played some ridiculous shots in that, and saved a few set points. I reckon one of Nadal's biggest advantages is that he plays the clutch points so friggin well. Whenever their was an important point , Nadal lifted his game to another level - Champion. Can't wait for the final, two guys who are in ripping form, can Berdych knock off the #1, 2 and 3 in the world in the space of about 5 days? I don't think he can, but it should be a great final. |

| For some reason I just can't get behind Nadal - he seems like a humble guy and he's a great athlete but there's just something about him that gets under my skin.
I really hope Berdych can pull off an upset, he played fantastic tennis to knock out Fed and Djokovic and I certainly wouldn't count him out, he's always had the potential to be elite and he seems to be tapping that potential in a big way right now.
In fact, I might just put a tenner on Berdych at $3.50, I like those odds. |

Same here! I'm not sure what it is, maybe it's cause he has beaten Federer quite a few times or something haha. Don't really care who wins the final tbh. I'm tipping Nadal in 5 though._________________ Victoria- 2009/10 Sheffield Shield Champions - 2009/10 Twenty20 Big Bash Champions - 2009/10 Ford Ranger Cup Finalists - 2009 Twenty20 Champions League semi-finalists |

| Men's Final: Rafael Nadal vs. Tomas Berdych (Head to Head - Nadal leads 7-3)
Tonight is the night. After a rest day at Wimbledon (who won the Women's Final I must ask? Hingis? Capriati? Davenport? Graff?) tonight it kicks right back into gear with a mouthwatering Men's Final. It's giant killer Tomas Berdych, in his first Grand Slam Final against seven time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal. Berdych has taken out the World No. 2 and 3 in consecutive rounds (Federer & Djokovic) while Nadal has had two quality wins over top 5 players (Soderling & Murray).
I think this is going to be an a lot closer match that most general pundits will think. The only thing going against Berdych is that being his first Grand Slam Final, nerves might get to him early. But if he can serve well, and dictate points from the back of the court with those massive groundstrokes, he's a real chance. The key for the last two matches for Nadal has been his incredible insistance on playing from the baseline, and not sitting 2-3M deep like at Roland Garros. If he can stay up in the court, and not let Berdych dictate too many points, I think he wins. Also, Rafa's ability to play the big points so well should put him in very good stead.
Tip: Nadal in 4 Sets. |

| Wow tonight, the end of what has been a fantastic couple of weeks and the one of the best slams we've seen for a while.
Tonight, I don't see this final going to 5 like the previous couple have. Although Berdych has been a different player this past year, I feel as if the occasion will get to him slightly and Nadal will be too strong in the key moments (like he was againts Murray). For Berdych to get the w tonight he has to get a lot of free points from his serve as the longer the points go for off the ground Nadal gets more of an edge.
I'll however be rooting for Berdych as prior to me following Istomin he was my #2 for a bit at the start of last year.
Tip - Nadal 7-5 6-3 6-4 _________________ Here's to us fools that have no meaning, I tip my glass to you, let's toast the night away to friends and forget about tomorrow

| Yep, bring it on, really excited! Still can't believe we won't be seeing Roger Federer in the Final. Not many would have tipped this Final before the start of the tournament, though both players will produce a cracking match IMO. Rafa has been slowly getting better match by match and if he can lift another gear tonight he should have too much class for Tomas Berdych. Hopefully he will attack the Berdych second serve and really put some pressure on it. As you guys have already said a lot will depend on how Berdych handles the occasion. His big forehand will be key tonight, it's vital he gets on top early and really takes it up to Nadal, if he's to produce the upset. RAFA!!! Also, keen to keep a close eye on the Juniors Final seeing as one of our own has made it through in Benjamin Mitchell. Wally Masur has big wraps on the kid and Wal is the man! _________________ |

| Well Rafa won in 3 sets, 6-3, 7-5, 6-4. I watched bits of this match in between the Tour de France and a bit of Moto GP and from what I saw Rafa was never really troubled by Berdych. Congrats to Rafa on another quality tournament. I think he becomes the first man in 30 yrs to hold the France and Wimbledon at the same time more than once as well which is a pretty special feat. I could be wrong though . _________________ '71 WHL '89 Anfield '02 OT '04 WHL AFC.

| Svoey was just about spot on with the result there. Top stuff by rafa, he really peaked at the right time of the tournament was outstanding in both the SF and final, though he didn't really have to get out of third gear to beat Berdych. wasn't a bad effort from Berdych but he never looked like a real threat to win the match. Congrats to Rafa, absolute champion of a player. |

| Rafa was in a different world to Berych last night. He played a really good game and was just too good in the end. Credit to Berdych though, he's played well throughout the Slam but he was up against Rafa in the finals and Rafa in a Slam final is not an easy man to beat. |

| Credit to Berdych for getting as far as he did, but it was clear Rafa was going to win once the 1st set ended really. _________________ "We were young, good-looking and stupid. Now, we're just stupid" - Mick Jagger, discussing the Stones in Exile documentary. |

| Pretty sure that makes it 2 more slams than Roger had at the same age, great to see him bounce back this year i keep saying it but at his best just a joy to watch. From the get go something was going to have to go horribly wrong for Rafa to lose it, in the conditions he really was superb. Credit to Tomas he's in the form of his life and who knows his time may come.
Mitchell also lost in straight sets. |
