World Cup Banner

Seeing as World Cup suggestions are already being brought up, would anyone be interested in making a World Cup banner for next year? Obviously there's no rush for the banner too be made in a hurry.

Brainstorm any possible ideas for the banner in here. Smile

I reckon 8 players on it, like the current banner...one from each confederation...maybe one player from each of these nations:

Brazil (Kaka)
Argentina (Messi)
England (Gerrard/Lampard/Rooney)
Ghana (Essien)
Australia (Cahill)
New Zealand (Smeltz)
USA (Altidore)
Spain (Xavi/Torres)

Plus the World Cup in the background, maybe Italy celebrating winning it in '06 as the background as well? Smile

Stadium as the background (possibly Wembley).

Six to eight players, one from the top five or so nations, plus Tim Cahill. Or one player from each confederation (like Sibsy said). Also a picture of the World Cup trophy in the middle of the banner and the 'The Final Whistle' writing & the whistle. Possibly a catchy slogan as well!?

That's my idea anyway.

I think across the top we have all 32 teams logo, obviously it would have to be small
and then we have 32 players, 1 from each country, with the world cup in the middle
I dont know if it would work but it would look awesome

Okay i can't design for crap, but my idea is that we have the cup in the centre, and 8 players from different teams all comin the from the side looking as though they are running toqards it. The background should be a team celebrating (not Italy)

If you're going to have the World Cup Trophy in the middle, it may as well be of Fabio Cannavaro holding the trophy up. I think if you're going to have eight teams, have them of the eight main contenders.

Considering this is a largely Aus/NZ forum, it would make more sense to have the 6 main contenders + Aus & NZ IMO

Yeah, it should be Australia and New Zealand next to the cup because most of the forumites are from Aus or NZ

Ok how about the stadium that will be used for the Final as the background

Get the picture of Pele or Maradona holding/kissing the cup.
The famous Ronaldo picture of him celebrating in 2002 after scoring in the final

Doesnt have to be all new stuff, get the South Africa logo in there aswell

k i have a couple of ideas so far.. The basic one like we have at the moment but i wouldnt mind a change..

I was thinking something like a timeline. Have the stadium as the background and either the world cup at the end or in the middle.. Then have a player from the team that won the world cup so it would be a little like a timeline as i have said. The last player would obviously be someone from Italy. Might be a little hard to understand but if you dont get it i will try explain it in a different way.

etc. but go back a bit futher, it'd be good if the picture was from that world cup aswell

Just a quick question: can GIFs go in the banner?

Coz with Becks idea you could have it fading in and fading out sorta thing, starting at whatever year you want saying - 1980 - Mars - World Champions or something (I have zero knowledge of football, so I just threw something there that I'm well aware is not right to avoid criticism) and then go along until you get to 2010 - ???? Who will win it? or something.
