| My thoughts -
Bayern Munich 2-1 Fiorentina: Well, what a disgraceful decision from the referee and the linesman. Honestly, they say Italians gets favorable decisions, but how about the Germans over the years huh?
The only thing the Fiorentina players did wrong was not protest hard enough, and that was their undoing. Still, after watching the game this morning, I back them to do the job in Florence. And if they do, that's a massive blight on the Bundesliga, and massive kudos to the Serie A considering where Fiorentina is at the moment considering Bayern went into the game having won 12 on the trot, and Fiorentina has picked up 2pts in it's last 12 Serie A games.
Porto 2-1 Arsenal: Honestly, Fabianski is an idiot, enough said. The first goal was an absolute howler, honestly, my grandma could have saved that. And the free kick which led to the second goal, really, Fabianski panicked, that's why he put the foot down to stop it.
Nevertheless, I still think the Gunners will be too good in the 2nd Leg, especially as most of the players that missed this mornings 1st Leg will be back for the 2nd Leg in London. |

| What's the point of protesting during the game? I didn't see the decision, or the game, but once the ref has made his mind up, no matter the protests he wont change his decision. _________________ La Roja!

Because then at least maybe, just maybe, the referee and the linesman will talk over it and possibly change the decision. It was such as obvious offside! |

| I don't think i have ever seen a ref change his decision because of players protesting no matter how much they did it or how bad the decision was in the first place, if anything it just risks players to getting cards.
I saw the goal, it was offside, though the linesman may not have known if the ball came off the Bayern attacker or one of the defenders (making him onside), protesting would have done nothing.
As for the game, Florentina even though they lost they have an away goal which can only help them in their home leg, the return game will probably be a defensive game, either of them can go through. _________________ La Roja!

| I finally saw the goals last night. No comment on the 1st goal lol. Our goal was nice though . No problems with it being called a FK for the backpass but what I have a problem with is the ref putting the ball down at the feet of the Porto player and letting him take the freekick when we had the keeper and Sol back at the time. Stupid decision imo. Plus we should have had a penalty about 30 seconds earlier. _________________ '71 WHL '89 Anfield '02 OT '04 WHL AFC.

| Bayern winner was a joke. Finally saw it today and couldn't believe it. He was a mile offside. No idea how it was missed.
And aFc I completely agree. What was the ref thinking.. players are no way near ready for the FK. But he just puts the ball perfectly down for the Porto guy. _________________ 2010 All Whites = LEGENDARY |

The other game is Fiorentina vs. Bayern Munich in Florence. Here's hoping that Fiorentina can get a win and get revenge for being robbed in Munich by that shocking decision from the linesmen. Sadly, I think Bayern will hold on.
As for Arsenal and Porto, while the Gunners are down 2-1 both the goals in the 1st leg were a little strange and I really can't see Porto holding on. Arsenal to progress to their fourth Quarter Final in the last five seasons. |

| Im confident of qualifying, even with Cesc out. Wenger said Nasri could be the one who steps into Cescs role for tomorrow. I'd be confident with him there, he was played as a playmaker ar Marseille and did quite well there, definately has the creative mind to play there. We are missing Gallas and Campbell so i think the one and only Silvestre will start with TV in the center back role.
I think we'll start something like this: Almunia Sagna TV Silvestre Clichy Song Nasri Diaby Walcott Bendtner Arshavin
Walcott played well v Burnley hopefully he can gain some confidence and some forward momentum from that performance. He hasnt had the best of seasons thus far but hopefully the youngster can continue on from Burnley.
Im confident of getting through, its at home and we have the all important away goal. In recent years we've giving Porto a belting at home and hopefully its much the same tomorrow _________________ Bird is the word.....

| Considering Porto couldn't score a 'genuine' goal at home they don't really stand a chance of scoring at Emirates. So with the away goal almost ruled out all we have to do is win 1-0 at worst. But with how the boys have been going recently I reckon we will win 2-0 or 3-0 and cruise through 3-2 or 4-2 on aggregate. _________________ 2010 All Whites = LEGENDARY |

| Huge game for us tomorrow. Pretty confident of qualifying, even with us being 2-1 down. I think we'll take it 3-1, 4-3 on agg. B52 to score a hat-trick! Think we'll go something like Almunia Sagna/Eboue*-TV-Sol-Clichy Nasril-Song-Diaby Theo-B52-Arshavin *I wouldnt be too unhappy to see Eboue in there, hes been fantastic lately. Maybe even up top in Theos position, he did play 90 on Saturday and he hasnt played a full game in a while I think. Looking forward to it though . _________________ '71 WHL '89 Anfield '02 OT '04 WHL AFC.
