| The Cats just withstood a Pies on slaughter that last 3-4 minutes. Cloke almost kicked a goal on the siren.
HT: Cats 49-38 Pies.
Very good contest, much closer than what I originally though earlier in the week, but it's about what I thought earlier tonight.
Should be a cracking 2nd Half. |

| Geelong are messing around with it far too much. Sometimes you just need to kick the ball forward, its fine handballing in the backline against Melbourne, Richmond, Freo, but Collingwood will be able to pressure and create a mistake, which they have been doing.
still, sets up a very exciting second half. Geelong still my pick though. _________________ La Roja!

Yeah I see the Cats raising their game to another level in the 2nd Half. But as you said, they've got to stop being so careless in defense. Their kick-outs have been shocking tonight. Enright and Taylor both did shocking kick-ins at one point in that 2nd Q. |

| A four goal to one 3rd Q has all but dashed Collingwood's hopes of a Grand Final appearance.
It'll take something special for the Pies to comeback, something which I don't think they have in them.
3QT: Cats 79-45 Pies. |

Geelong certainly did pick up their game in the 3rd quarter, finally started taking their chances, rather then missing them, though their backline still doesn't look as good as it has before.
Though its going to take a big comeback for collingwood to win from here.
Far too many of Collingwood top line players have been quiet this game. _________________ La Roja!

| Pies half backs need to run at Geelong and take a chance ala Harry in the last minutes ...
Thats the only way they can win the game if they keep getting smashed in the middle! |

Yeah absolutely. And I don't think even a fully fit Scott Pendlebury would have gotten Collingwood victory.
Overall though, a very positive season for the Pies. An improvement on 2008 and their Semi Final appearance then, but still they need to improve in quite a few areas to be LEGITIMATE Premiership contenders in 2010. |

| agreed Pendlebury wouldn't have made that much of a difference.
I think the pies still need a ruckman (Wood is shite, Fraser isn't a ruckman, leigh brown...lol) if they want to really become a legtimate contender. _________________ La Roja!
