| Here's some more: * Bulls have been advised to fight to try and retain Ben Gordon* Jazz seem set to trade resigned forward Carlos Boozer* Celtics interested in Anthony Parker* Mavericks confident they can keep Jason Kidd. Kidd wishes to wait a few weeks before deciding his future * Grizzlies offer for David Lee has been nixed by owner. Raptors are apparently interested. * Rudy Fernandez is unhappy at the Blazers, and is threatening to return to Europe once his contract ends * Magic interested in Brandon Bass* Raptors pursuing Hedo Turkoglu* Ron Artest is considered unlikely to return to Rockets, with Cavaliers interested. * Josh Powell will remain at the Lakers * DJ Mbenga will remain at the Lakers * Raptors will use money intended for Villanueva on a bid for Linas Klieza* Trevor Ariza leaning towards moving over the summer. Blazers or Raptors (whoever misses out on Hedo) will likely take him. * Zach Randolph traded to Grizzlies * Quentin Richardson traded to Clippers _________________ Reporter: It appears the French don't like the Beatles! | on then rumours: -i'm hoping we land turk, would make our team great (aswell as odens development) - bulls are stupid to be letting gordon go. - cavs should pursue Charlie-V instead of 'Sheed, coz he is more mobile, which was their weakness this season. - Bobcats should sign AI. - the Z-Bo trade is good for Clips, but could aalso help Grizzlies if he gets his head in a good frame of mind. But they now have an influx of bigs (thabeet, gasol, hadiddi, randolph, arthur, warrick), so it would surpise me that gasol could be traded to some like thunder who would love a young centre. |

| I was high on Hedo coming to Portland, but am even more for Ariza. Would be a great fit with us, more so than Hedo would be, is also cheaper and younger We could then trade Outlaw, Blake and maybe even Webster for a sweet PG These Rudy rumours are nothing but BS imo _________________ manbearpig

| There are strong rumours that Ron Artest is signing with the Lakers. Meaning Ariza is on his way out of LA. http://realgm.com/src_wiretap/ |

| More rumours. There's DUB's one, and the following: * Josh Childress is back in America to begin discussions with the Bucks * Knicks want to use MLE on Grant Hill* Blazers surprised and worried about recent Rudy Fernandez reports * Fabricio Oberto waived by Pistons * Hornets interested in luring Jannero Pargo to the team * Trevor Ariza unimpressed by Lakers' offer. Rockets offered MLE, which Ariza verbally agreed on. * Lamar Odom unsure of Lakers future * Shannon Brown shows little interest in resigning at Lakers * Dahntay Jones receives offers from 5-6 teams * Ben Gordon excited by Pistons opportunity, and claims the Bulls never made a new contract offer for him. * Allen Iverson wants to sign with Grizzlies. Heat are reportedly interested. * A dozen teams mark interest in David Lee* Ricky Rubio has reportedly decided to stay in Spain for at least 2 years * Ron Artest is most probably going to join the Lakers. Heat have offered for him though * Brandon Bass interested in sign-and-trade to Magic * Marcin Gortat gives verbal commitment to Mavericks _________________ Reporter: It appears the French don't like the Beatles! | I hope the Bucks can snare Childress. I quite liked his style at Atlanta, and he'd add the scoring we lost through that stupid Jefferson trade. _________________ Reporter: It appears the French don't like the Beatles! | | Quote: | The Blazers are believed to be dangling a 5-year, $50 million deal to lure Hedo Turkoglu to the Pacific Northwest. Turkoglu was given the red carpet treatment by the Blazers on Thursday.
"They are pretty interested, and I'm happy about it, because as a player, that's what you want, interest from teams, especially good teams," Turkoglu said. "They have been a good team the last couple of years. So to get an invitation from them makes you feel special."
The Raptors are the other team competing for Turkoglu and could offer him more money, but are a team on the rebound. Turkoglu's wife is said to have an affinity for the city of Toronto. |
| Quote: | The Globe, citing a single NBA source, said that Celtics managing partner Wyc Grousbeck, team president Danny Ainge, coach Doc Rivers and All-Stars Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen, all met with Wallace for three hours in Detroit.
The Celtics are reportedly offering a contract using the mid-level exception, the Globe reported. |
Imagine Sheed and KG on the same team I love Sheed, but hate Boston
| Quote: | Trevor Ariza agreed to a five-year deal with the Rockets for about $33 million, roughly the same that the Lakers had offered in their effort to retain him.
"I had to do what was best for me and family," Ariza said. "I am happy with my decision. I'm glad this all worked out. The Rockets are going to give me a chance to improve my game and that's all you can ask for."
Ariza had a more lucrative offer from another team, according to his agent. |
this one is a bit confusing? _________________ manbearpig

| I wake up and see Hedo has agreed to a 50/5 offer from the blazers. Now this The Oregonian has learned that free agent forward Hedo Turkoglu has rejected an offer to sign with the Trail Blazers and has ended negotiations with the team. He will leave town tomorrow morning. More to come. lol... who now.... _________________ manbearpig

| * Celtics extremely interested in Rasheed Wallace. Magic have been in contact also * Steve Nash wants to remain a Sun, but admits that the Knicks wouldn't be bad * Stephon Marbury rejects a new contract with the Celtics * Mike Bibby wishes to remain a Hawk, but the 76ers remain interested * Ronnie Price wants to resign with the Jazz * Paul Millsap is still awaiting an offer. The Thunder are reportedly interested * Hornets enquire about Mikki Moore* Mavericks expected to sign Quinton Ross* Matt Harpring considers retirement * Mavericks looking to trade Erick Dampier* Knicks offer Morris Almond a Summer League contract * Antonio McDyess is in no hurry to decide his NBA future * As many as 12 teams are interested in Ramon Sessions, whom the Bucks wish to keep if possible. * Raptors offer Shawn Marion a 4 yr deal * Tyson Chandler is being shopped by the Hornets * Nuggets display interest in Grant Hill* Jason Kidd intends to remain at the Mavericks * Allen Iverson still wants to sign with Grizzlies * Hedo Turkoglu backs out of Blazers' deal, intending to sign with Raptors ______________ Where to now for the Blazers? They obviously want a small forward, but with Artest, Turkoglu and Ariza out of the picture, doesn't leave many options... Also, those 12 teams interested in Sessions better keep their grubby hands off him _________________ Reporter: It appears the French don't like the Beatles! What do you think of them? | Now I guess we have 10mil to throw at Odom, Bass, Miller, Ariza, McDyess. Sign me up for Odom, unless we can't get Trevor _________________ manbearpig

Ariza's agreed to terms at Houston, so I guess it's Odom they'll go after... McDyess and Miller are asking more than they are worth, and Bass hasn't been linked to Portland as far as I know..._________________ Reporter: It appears the French don't like the Beatles! I'm still hoping we may get him Bass would be a great back up PF for us. Aldridge plays the most minutes of anyone on our team I think due to our lack of PF's (Frye thought he was a SG) Tough, rebounder, just what we need. Odom would be awesome, can handle the ball, play big or small. I think we could possibly do a sign and trade for Miller (for Blake and Outlaw) and then sign Odom _________________ manbearpig

| with turk, all will be revealed soon (once salary cap is announced). im still hopin that the blazers land him. coz the raptors already have their sights on marion & delfino. and on other small fowards, ariza would be best coz odom is better at pf. but i dunno why we are going after a sf first, we need a pg more (aka hinrich and not miller), coz webster & outlaw arent as bad as blake. |

| In a sudden rush at the end of a frenzied week, the Toronto Raptors have remade their roster and signed free-agent forward Hedo Turkoglu, The Globe and Mail has confirmed. The versatile Orlando Magic forward appeared poised to sign with the Portland Trail Blazers until a late bid by the Raptors -- in excess of $50-million over five seasons for the 30 year-old -- caused the change of heart, even as Turkoglu was in Portland visiting with the Trail Blazers. Turkoglu had agreed on a five-year, $50-million (all currency U.S.) deal with the Blazers, but will sign with the Raptors for more than $10-million a season. Signing Turkoglu means the Raptors will have to renounce their rights to their existing free agents – Shawn Marion, Carlos Delfino and Anthony Parker – to create the cap space for Turkoglu. |
